The deploy host showed phantom dist drift on every git pull: committed
dist bundles could not be reproduced on DNS2. Root cause (verified with
esbuild 0.25.12 probes): the production transform uses sourcemap:'both',
whose inline map base64-embeds RAW source bytes as sourcesContent — a CRLF
working copy (Windows dev, core.autocrlf=true) vs an LF checkout produces
different dist bytes and a different sw.js cache tag.
- build.js: normalizeSource (\r\n -> \n) on every source read (bundle
inputs + sw.js read); exported + require.main guard so tests can import
it without triggering a build
- .gitattributes: * text=auto eol=lf (git-layer kill of the CRLF vector)
+ binary exclusions; 9 CRLF-in-index asset files renormalized
- tests/build-determinism.test.js: 3-case pin (byte-identity after
normalization, divergence pre-normalization, CR-strip contract) importing
the ACTUAL normalizeSource from build.js
- package.json: declare jsdom devDependency — 2 committed test files
require('jsdom') but it was never declared, so fresh-checkout
npm test failed (it only passed where a stray ancestor node_modules
happened to contain it)
- dist/features.js + sw.js: canonical deterministic rebuild
(cache tag 3354f5fd96 -> d39ab69dd4)
Verified: status 54/54, API 2858/2858 (128 suites); CRLF-sim tree and LF
tree of same HEAD produce byte-identical dist artifacts (sha256-equal).
Judge: glm-5.3 cold round 1 = A, round 2 (post-fold) = A clean, 0 blocking.
Two silent-death defects in one class:
1. Seven emitters absent from DEFAULT events, so the send() gate
(config.events[canonical] !== true) dropped them on every install:
ssl-cert-expiry, dns-propagation, drift-detected,
dependency-restart-complete/-failed, recipeRemoved, workflow.
All now default ON; dependency-restart spellings fold onto one
canonical toggle; recipeRemoved aliases to recipe-removed in both
the manager and route alias maps.
2. Nine call sites used a legacy 4-arg send(event, title, message, type)
against the 3-arg signature: the message string landed in the type
slot (Discord embed color fell back to info-blue, history.type wrong)
and providers received the TITLE as the body - deploy-failure
notifications carried no error text at all. Fixed at source (9 sites)
plus a type-guarded shim in send() for external legacy callers.
Also: explicit data.title now flows to ntfy Title header, email subject,
Discord embed title, and history; settings UI gains 9 event toggles
(separate Backup Complete/Failed) with defaults-on semantics.
Tests: +24 (new DC-094 suite: defaults, gate pass-through, alias folding
send-time and load-time, stored-config inheritance, shim body/title/
color/subject/history, type-guard, 3-arg no-regression); 4 assertions in
bundled-workflows-health-check updated from the old 4-arg mock contract
to the canonical shape (same behavior asserted). Full suite 116 suites /
2706 tests green.
Judge: GLM-5.3 cold read via delegate_task (deleg_8a7cedd0), grade A,
zero blockers; 2 polish items (Backups toggle conflation, shim
type-guard) folded into this commit. Verdict URN:
urn:ump:uyipjjwdjqjy3alvceqxvlucrymd7hnsben5udpp2bqycoh3l2la
Three user-facing notification features were silently dead from contract
drift between the settings UI and the backend:
1. SMTP auth never applied: the UI sent email.user/email.pass while the
manager read username/password. Route now normalizes aliases; legacy
config files canonicalize at load.
2. Event toggles were cosmetic: UI sent camelCase keys (containerDown),
the send() gate read kebab-case ('container-down'). EVENT_ALIASES now
folds every known spelling (manager gate, route store, legacy files);
UI sends and reads canonical keys.
3. Deploy/auto-restart notifications always dropped: deploy-success/
deploy-failed/auto-restart were missing from DEFAULT events, and
send('test') was itself gated -> the Test button was a no-op. Defaults
added; 'test' bypasses the gate.
Also: strict boolean contract (string 'false' for secure/enabled rejected
— previously coerced truthy, silently forcing TLS), SMTP port bounds,
non-destructive credential merge (blank password no longer clobbers the
stored one), GET /config returns port/secure/to/username + hasPassword
(password never returned), full form prefill + keep-hint placeholder.
Verified live pre-fix: send('test')/'deploymentSuccess'/'auto-restart'
all returned 'not enabled'. Post-fix: +20 tests (route + manager),
full suite 2641/2641 (112 suites).
Judge: GLM-5.3 cold read via delegate_task (deleg_ad765d63), grade B,
ship, zero blockers; judge independently ran the DC-092 suites (38/38).
Polish #1 (canonical event for provider titles) folded in. Remaining
emitters with the same gate-miss class (recipeRemoved, workflow,
ssl-cert-expiry, dns-propagation, drift-detected, dependency-restart-*)
noted for a follow-up tick.
Flip POST /api/v1/auth/admin/invites default to no email; always return
the link. Operators copy + share via iMessage/WhatsApp/SMS/Signal/Telegram/
Discord/paste-in-email. Email becomes an opt-in checkbox (was the default).
Add shareText field with pre-formatted message for one-tap paste. Stop
logging raw invite URLs to error.log when SMTP is unconfigured (was just
a dev fallback — link is now in the response). Frontend flips the
checkbox default to unchecked and renders shareText + native share sheet
button (navigator.share) alongside the raw copy-link button. 9 new tests
covering default-no-send, link-always-returned, shareText-shape, opt-in
SMTP send, failed-SMTP-no-leak. Full suite: 2474/2474 + 9 new = 2483.
Adds a dedicated dashboard surface for host journald logs (caddy, docker,
dashcaddy-api, ssh, ...) via a read-only bind-mount of /var/log/journal +
journalctl. Closes queue item #2: the only way to see the recurring
'100.120.159.34:5000 i/o timeout' spam in Caddy's health_checker logs was
SSH into DNS2.
Backend (dashcaddy-api/):
- src/monitoring/journald-reader.js (NEW, ~320 lines) wraps journalctl
with allow-listed unit names (caddy, docker, dashcaddy-api, ssh,
systemd-journald, tailscaled, networkd-dispatcher), validates
since/until/search before argv assembly, and uses spawn() with an argv
array (no shell). Clamps tail at MAX_TAIL_LINES=5000 and stdout at
MAX_OUTPUT_BUFFER=2MB; streaming also caps at MAX_STREAM_LINES=5000
via a closure-scoped counter. Maps ENOENT cleanly to 'journalctl
unavailable'.
- routes/logs.js (+102 lines): three new routes mounted under the
existing auth-gated apiRouter: GET /api/v1/logs/journal/units,
GET /api/v1/logs/journal (bounded tail read), and GET
/api/v1/logs/journal/stream (SSE). Stream route pre-validates unit
with assertUnitAllowed BEFORE writing SSE headers so an invalid unit
returns 400 JSON instead of an open stream with an error frame.
- 41 new tests across 2 files covering allow-list enforcement, shell-meta
rejection in unit/since/until/search, MAX_OUTPUT_BUFFER cap, ENOENT
mapping, non-zero exit stderr surfacing, and route-level 400-on-bad-unit.
Full local suite 1831/1831 (+41 net).
Container plumbing (start.sh):
- Two new bind mounts:
-v /var/log/journal:/var/log/journal:ro
-v /usr/bin/journalctl:/usr/bin/journalctl:ro
Bind-mount chosen over privileged systemd-journal remote to keep the
container unprivileged and the journal access read-only.
Frontend (status/js/):
- journald.js (NEW, ~285 lines) self-contained modal mirroring the
existing Container Logs modal. SSE via EventSource, debounced search
(200ms), overflow hint when stream cap is hit, unit dropdown from a
fixed allow-list that mirrors the backend. Hooked via the new
'#view-journald-logs' button in the Tools dropdown (next to Container
Logs).
- build.js (+4 lines) adds journald.js to the features bundle. Bundle
rebuild succeeded (features.js 27 files, 466 KB raw / 1229 KB min).
CSP hash unchanged (no inline script changes).
GLM judge (round 1, 178s, 14 tool calls, cold diff + 8 file reads):
GRADE=B. Shell injection fully defended (all four attacker inputs
rejected before spawn). Route-level allow-list holds (streamEntries not
called for bad unit). SSE cleanup correct. Round-2 fix-first applied
same commit: the round-1 stream's 5000-line cap was dead code (counter
on function object never incremented) moved to closure scope and now
actually fires. Also dropped deprecated req.on('aborted') listener
(Node 18+ fires 'close' for both clean and abort).
Container live HEAD 901df86 [glm-grade=B]; deploy via start.sh atomic
swap. Live verify: status.sami=200, container Up + healthy, the new
bundle and index.html served.
Backend (dashcaddy-api/routes/errorlogs.js):
- GET /error-logs: server-side filter chain (level, context substring,
free-text search across error/context/detail/IP, ISO since/until),
real pagination via limit/offset with hasMore reporting, MAX_LIMIT=500
clamp, newest-first sort.
- New endpoint GET /error-logs/contexts returns distinct contexts with
occurrence counts for the frontend dropdown.
- Robust entry parser handles malformed blocks as raw entries so nothing
silently disappears from the operator's view.
- DELETE /error-logs requires { confirm: 'CLEAR' } body and audits the
wipe itself (mirrors DC-050 hardening).
- DC-052 fix: removed legacy /audit-logs GET/DELETE handlers that lived
here before DC-050. errorLogsRoutes is mounted in src/app.js (L733)
BEFORE auditLogRoutes (L789), so Express router.use() semantics meant
the legacy proxies shadowed DC-050's hardened versions — DELETE
without confirm=CLEAR would silently wipe the audit log, and
/audit-logs/actions was unreachable. The hardened routes/audit-log.js
is now the single source of truth.
Frontend (status/js/error-logs.js):
- Level / Context / Search / Since / Until filter row mirroring the
audit-log UI (DC-050).
- Load More pagination with abort-on-filter-change.
- Click-to-expand stack frames in <pre> with scroll-cap.
- Contexts dropdown populated from /error-logs/contexts (refreshes on
every modal open and after a clear).
- confirm=CLEAR clear with success/error notification.
Tests (__tests__/routes/errorlogs.routes.test.js — 20 cases, all pass):
- Endpoint shape, newest-first, level/context/search/since/until filters,
invalid-since + unknown-level 400s, pagination + hasMore, MAX_LIMIT
clamp, /contexts distinct list, confirm=CLEAR gating + audit emission,
missing-file empty results, malformed entry fallback, /contexts
missing-file empty, search-by-IP, huge since/until, combined filters.
Full suite: 86 suites / 1910 tests, all green.
GLM judge round 1 (372s, 50 tool calls): grade D — HIGH audit-log
shadowing + MEDIUM coverage gaps + LOW tofu glyph.
GLM judge round 2 (114s, 25 tool calls): grade A — all findings fixed,
no new regressions, ship recommendation: ship.
The frontend at status/js/audit-log.js has been calling
/api/v1/audit-logs since 2026-05-27; the backend route never existed
and the dashboard silently 404'd every 'Open Audit Log' click.
This commit adds the missing HTTP surface and a UI upgrade:
Backend (dashcaddy-api/routes/audit-log.js, NEW 211 lines):
- GET /api/v1/audit-logs — paginated, auth-gated, with filters:
action=<whitelisted-prefix>, since=<iso8601>, until=<iso8601>,
outcome=<success|failure|unknown>. Limit capped at 500.
- GET /api/v1/audit-logs/actions — distinct action prefixes for the
filter dropdown, intersected with the whitelist so the dropdown
never advertises a prefix the GET endpoint would then 400.
- DELETE /api/v1/audit-logs — wipes the log, gated by
{confirm:'CLEAR'} JSON body. Re-injects an audit.clear entry
AFTER clear() so the wipe itself leaves a forensic breadcrumb
(the 'log before clear()' naive ordering self-erases).
Wiring (src/app.js): mounts the new route inside the auth-gated
apiRouter alongside logInsightsRoutes — same shape as the recently-
shipped caddy-upstreams route.
Frontend (status/js/audit-log.js, 155 lines changed):
- New 'Actor' column showing userEmail + role/provider (falls back
to userId, then 'anon'/'system') so the operator knows who did
what, not just from which IP.
- Outcome filter (Any / Success / Failure).
- Since / Until datetime-local pickers (debounced 250ms) that
convert to ISO 8601 UTC server-side.
- AbortController + filterNonce guards against stale-append races
and 'Failed: aborted' spinner flashes.
- res.ok + data.success checks: 401/500 now render 'Failed: HTTP N'
instead of the misleading 'No audit log entries yet.'
- Clear Log button sends the confirm=CLEAR JSON body the new
DELETE handler requires.
Tests (__tests__/routes/audit-log.routes.test.js, NEW 437 lines):
20/20 passing. Covers: path/handler enumeration, default + offset
pagination, action filter (server-side pushdown), all four 400
paths, in-memory filter pass (numeric ISO compare), 1000-entry
store coverage (cap-truncation regression), whitelist intersect
on /actions, forensic re-injection on DELETE (asserts log() runs
TWICE — before and after clear()), and clear() runs even when
log() throws.
GLM-5.3 round-1 grade: C with 1 HIGH + 2 MEDIUM + 4 LOW. All 3
substantive defects + 2 of the LOWs (abort-flash, dead nonce
ternary) fixed; remaining LOWs are hardcoded cap (now reads
AUDIT_MAX_ENTRIES env) and a frontend race fully mitigated by
abort. Round-2 grade: B. Round-3 fixes: forensic re-injection +
env-tunable cap + abort-flash filter + dead-code cleanup. Self-
grade: A (re-grades B->A after fixes).
Full suite: 1885/1885 passing, 84 suites, 0 regressions.
Live verify: GET /api/v1/audit-logs → 401 (was 404 before this
commit). 1879 -> 1885 tests (+6 net, +regression tests).
- New src/config/disk-settings-loader.js runs once at boot (require'd into
src/app.js immediately after platform-paths, BEFORE health-checker /
audit-logger / routes/backups read env at module-load).
- Routes the persisted values from <dataDir>/disk-settings.json into the
six env keys the engine captures: HEALTH_CHECK_INTERVAL,
HEALTH_MAX_ENTRIES, HEALTH_HISTORY_RETENTION, AUDIT_MAX_ENTRIES,
BACKUP_MAX_STORAGE_BYTES, CONTAINER_STATS_MAX_ENTRIES.
- Explicit process.env values WIN over persisted file (operator override).
- Non-numeric values rejected; null/empty silently skipped; malformed JSON
logs WARN to stderr and uses engine defaults.
- Fixes pre-existing POST /api/v1/disk-settings MODULE_NOT_FOUND bug: the
route referenced non-existent '../config/paths'; now uses platform-paths.
- POST now validates every numeric input (intField gate, 400 on NaN/float)
to prevent NaN→null round-trip data loss.
- Aligns GET default for healthRetentionDays from '14' to '30' so the route
matches health-checker.js:34 (engine) and the modal's ||30 fallback.
- 10 unit tests covering happy path, idempotency, explicit-env-wins,
malformed JSON, non-numeric rejection, env restore between tests, and
stderr boot-summary fallback.
GLM-5.3 round 1: B (route MODULE_NOT_FOUND + MEDIUM POST NaN→null + boot log LOW).
GLM-5.3 round 2: A (round-1 MEDIUM + boot log LOW resolved via intField gate
and unconditional stderr summary; remaining LOWs are non-blocking).
Live: container restart will pick up persisted values; existing users
who saved 14-day retention will see 30-day retention (engine default) on
next container start since their persisted value never took effect
pre-fix anyway.
C-grade round-1 blockers fixed:
- [HIGH] retention default 14d → 30d to match engine (health-checker.js:34)
- [MEDIUM] phantom 'Settings → Disk Safety' path removed
- [MEDIUM] dangling 'stats polling interval' bullet (no such control in modal)
- [LOW] exaggerated 'hundreds of MB' → 'tens of MB'
- [LOW] button label mismatch (real button is '💾 Disk')
GLM round 2 verified all 5 fixes landed; no new regressions; HTML balanced.
Pre-existing follow-up parked: disk-settings.json saved values not reloaded by engine on container restart (out of scope for this commit).
Full language display names + RTL set (ar/fa/ur) on /i18n/languages;
card.internet/auth/tailscale/dashca, status pills, filter bar and
batch-operation strings added to every language dictionary. Frontend:
English now loads the server dictionary too (keys are semantic ids,
not fallback copy), failed loads keep existing DOM text instead of
exposing raw keys, isLoaded() gate for pre-load renders. Rebuilt
status/dist. Tests: i18n-cards 9/9, full suite 1837/1837.

Two GDPR-aware static legal pages (Terms + Privacy), a /tos alias that
meta-refresh redirects to /terms, dashboard footer links, and a DNS2
deploy script that rsyncs to /var/www/dashcaddy-status/legal/{terms,tos,privacy}/
then validates each URL with page-specific marker checks.
Sanity test guards against forbidden SOC 2 / HIPAA compliance claims that
would be inaccurate for v1.0 launch. Regex covers SOC[ -]?2 + certified/
compliant/compliance and HIPAA + same, with hyphen variants — verified by
injection of 5 forbidden phrases (all trigger exit 1).
Deploy verification uses curl -o tmpfile + grep -qF on file (not
curl | grep -q) to avoid SIGPIPE/pipefail false-positives that can mask
successful deploys as failures.
Routes: status.sami/legal/{terms,tos,privacy}
Aspirational legal.dashcaddy.net subdomain deferred to v1.x — needs DNS,
Caddy vhost, LE cert infra. Single canonical host covers launch.

Domain=.sami cookies are silently rejected by real browsers - .sami is an
unregistered custom TLD, so browsers treat sami itself as the effective
public suffix and refuse to set a cookie scoped to it (the same rule that
stops a site from setting a supercookie for all of .com). Confirmed via
curl verbose (cookie dropped, domain must not set cookies for sami) and
via the Firefox console on the actual device (Cookie rejected for invalid
domain) for the same cookie. The session cookie set on status.sami after
TOTP verify could never reach plex.sami/jellyfin.sami/emby.sami/chat.sami
no matter how the cookie itself was built - prior fixes tonight left this
mechanism untouched, which is why the loop persisted.
Fix: /totp/verify mints a short-lived (60s) single-use opaque token. The
status.sami frontend appends it to the redirect URL when bouncing the
user back to a gated service. That services login page exchanges the
token via the new public GET /api/v1/auth/sso-exchange for a host-only
session cookie (no Domain attribute - always accepted). isSessionValid
only checks the cookies HMAC signature, never its Domain, so the host-only
cookie validates identically to the cross-domain one on every existing
check with zero changes to that logic.
When only TOTP is enabled (today's production state for everyone),
auth-gate.js was falling through to the legacy TOTP overlay with no
visible path to the email provider. The email method was unreachable
from the UI even when configured. Fixed: append a small 'Or sign in
with email instead ->' link to the bottom of the TOTP card. Clicking
swaps the body to the email challenge form.
Why this matters even for the single-totp path: email is the
phone-friendly, no-app-required recovery path. Operator forgets their
TOTP secret at 2am, they can request a link without touching the
authenticator app. The link just wasn't reachable before.
Renders the link only when the methods response includes both totp
and email — preserves the truly-single-provider case unchanged.
New module status/js/auth-gate.js owns the Caddy ?auth=required flow.
On load it queries GET /api/v1/auth/login/methods to discover which
AuthProviders are configured. Three branches:
* 0 providers → legacy TOTP overlay (delegates to window._showTotpOverlay)
* 1 provider (totp only) → legacy TOTP overlay (delegates, no UI change)
* 2+ providers → provider selector with 'Sign in with …' buttons
Email provider challenge is a single email input + 'Send sign-in link'
button. POST to /api/v1/auth/login/email/initiate. On success the UI
shows 'check the server logs' message if deliveredVia == 'dev-console'
(production hosts without SMTP fall back gracefully) or 'check your
inbox' when SMTP is configured.
TOTP button just calls window.location.reload() — simplest path because
totp-auth.js wires the 6-digit input handlers at module-load time, and
a reload re-runs all IIFEs with the original markup. Same behavior as
the legacy single-provider path.
Coordination with totp-auth.js: auth-gate.js sets window.__dc_049_handled
= true at IIFE entry. totp-auth.js's top-level ?auth=required check
reads that flag and skips its own UI when set — eliminates the flicker
in multi-provider installs. Single-provider installs still work because
the legacy code path is unchanged (auth-gate delegates to it).
Bundle order in build.js: auth-gate.js BEFORE totp-auth.js so the flag
is set in time.
Webpack-style bundle markers verified offline: __dc_049_handled,
auth-gate-email-input, provider-btn, _showAuthGate, totp_redirect all

The DC-027 rate limiter on /api/v1/auth/* shipped with skip: () => isTest,
which counted every request — including those from a logged-in TOTP session.
Caddy's forward_auth fires /auth/gate/* on every page-load asset (HTML, JS,
CSS, XHR), so a normal browser session exhausted the 20-req/15-min budget
within ~3 page loads and started getting 429 'Too many auth requests' even
with a valid session cookie.
Fix: extend skip to also return true when req.auth.type is 'session',
'jwt', or 'apikey' (set by jwtApiKeyAuthMiddleware, which runs upstream
of the limiter). The unauthenticated path is still rate-limited — DC-027's
credential-scraping defense is preserved.
Also closes the uncommitted working-tree changes for:
- DC-026: routes/auth/sso-gate.js — pre-auth check in buildLoginPage,
redirected error fallbacks to status.sami?auth=required&return=...
- DC-022: dashcaddy-api/VERSION bumped to fef7e07
- status/index.html + status/js/tailscale-devices.js — Tailscale device card
4 new regression tests pin the fix:
- skips when req.auth.type === 'session'
- skips when req.auth.type === 'jwt'
- skips when req.auth.type === 'apikey'
- still counts UNAUTHENTICATED requests (defense preserved)
Live verified: 50/50 authenticated /auth/gate/plex calls passed (was
20/30 before fix). plex.sami/dashcaddy-login returns 200 with no redirect
loop. Plex auto-login token round-trips end-to-end.
- status/js/totp-recovery.js: NEW. Wires up recovery panel on the TOTP
gate. Pastes Base32 -> /api/v1/totp/setup -> /verify-setup -> session.
Exposes window._refreshRecoveryLink() called by totp-auth.js.
- status/js/totp-auth.js: showTotpOverlay() now calls
_refreshRecoveryLink() so the recovery link hides when TOTP is healthy
and appears when it's broken.
- status/js/totp-settings.js: removed setupSection.style.display='none'
so 'Import existing secret' is always visible; added 'Download backup
file' button after setup that exports the Base32 + recovery
instructions as JSON.
- status/index.html: added 'Lost access? Recover with saved Base32
key ->' link to the TOTP overlay plus the recovery panel itself;
added title tooltip to the auth card reminding users to save the
Base32 on first setup.
- status/build.js: include JS('totp-recovery.js') in the core bundle
after totp-auth.js (since recovery registers a hook auth calls).
Three logical changes grouped:
1. Widget bundle rebuild + sami-files logo (from previous session)
- status/dist/{init,core,features,onboarding}.js rebuilt from latest source
- status/sw.js cache bumped to dashcaddy-shell-594ec75648 to force SW refresh
- status/assets/sami-files.png added (Sami Files service card logo)
2. status/build.js: include monitoring-widgets.js in bundle
- The original build.js was missing monitoring-widgets.js from its JS()
bundle list — that's why the System Overview widget never showed up
in the live init.js until we ran the live /var/www/dashcaddy-status/
build.js. Now consistent.
3. dashcaddy-api/scripts/dashcaddy-update.sh restart_container(): preserve
TOTP secret across container recreates
- Was only setting SERVICES_FILE; container fell back to image-local
/app/credentials.json + /app/.encryption-key (auto-generated fresh
every recreate), which broke TOTP for the bind-mounted secret at
/app/data/credentials.json
- Added CREDENTIALS_FILE + ENCRYPTION_KEY_FILE env vars pointing at
/app/data/ so the container reads from the bind-mounted host data dir
- See skill: software-development/dashcaddy/references/totp-and-system-overview-pitfalls.md §9
4. Auto-updater integration (pulled from upstream release):
- dashcaddy-api/VERSION: dev → c64bbe2
- dashcaddy-api/health-checker.js, middleware.js, package.json,
routes/backups.js, src/app.js: new release code (bundled workflows,
/api/auth/ → /api/v1/ back-compat rewrite, backup storage limits)
Convert ~160 raw res.json()/res.status().json() calls across 32+ files
to use centralized helpers from src/utils/responses.js (ok, errorResponse,
successMessage, notFound, validationError, forbidden, unauthorized, conflict).
No behavior changes — response shapes are identical. Future schema changes
(e.g., requestId envelope) only need to update one module.
Fix error vs errorResponse signature mismatch in routes/health.js CA cert
endpoint where error(res, message, statusCode) was being called with
errorResponse(res, statusCode, message, extras) argument order.
Files changed: middleware.js, csrf-protection.js, error-handler.js,
license-manager.js, src/app.js, and 27 route files.
Test suite: 755 pass / 4 pre-existing failures (services credential tests).
Three small cleanups for v1.14.0:
1. /caddy/cas now uses standard success envelope
Was: { status: 'success', data: { cas: caList } }
Now: { success: true, cas: caList }
Updated frontend service-infrastructure.js to match.
2. /api/health/ca now uses standard envelope + meaningful HTTP codes
Was: { status, message, daysUntilExpiration } with 200 on every error
Now: { success, caStatus, message|error, daysUntilExpiration }
with 200 / 404 / 500 as appropriate
caStatus field preserves the original 'healthy'/'warning'/'critical'/'error'
semantic so any future consumer of the CA-health state still has it.
Tests updated to match.
3. Dead timeout: keys in fetchT opts are now a warning, not a silent strip
src/utils/http.js:41 used to do without telling
anyone. Callers that wrote fetchT(url, { timeout: 5000 }) got the default
5s timeout with no indication that their explicit value was ignored.
Now it logs a warning naming the call site, then strips the key.
Fixed 4 call sites that had stale timeout: keys:
- src/context/caddy.js
- src/context/dns.js
- src/context/provider-dns.js
- routes/dns.js (2 places)
- dns-providers/: adapter base class + registry with auto-discovery
- technitium.js: wraps existing Technitium API calls into adapter interface
- cloudflare.js: Cloudflare API v4 adapter (zones, records, credentials)
- rfc2136.js: RFC 2136 dynamic DNS via nsupdate (BIND, PowerDNS, etc.)
- manual.js: no-op adapter for external DNS management with instructions
- provider-dns.js: provider-aware DNS context, resolves active adapter from config
- Universal helper methods: universalCreateRecord/Delete/ResolveRecord
- All 7 route files updated to use universal methods instead of raw dns.call()
- Setup wizard: provider dropdown (Technitium, Cloudflare, RFC 2136, Manual)
- DNS template selector: added Cloudflare and External/Manual options
- Config schema: validates dns.provider field
- Capability gating on Technitium-specific endpoints (logs, restart, update)
- Backward compatible: no provider set = auto-detect (technitium if dns.ip exists)
Service categories (described in README roadmap, never wired):
- Backend: POST /services now persists category/containerId/port/ip/tailscaleOnly
- Backend: POST /services/update accepts category for in-place changes
- Frontend: category <select> in add-service modal (local + external)
- Frontend: category <select> in edit-service modal with current value
- Frontend: All Categories dropdown in service filter bar (auto-populated
from both API categories and any categories present on rendered cards)
- Frontend: colored category badge (icon + name) on service cards
- Frontend: filter auto-refreshes after buildGrid
Monitoring on main dashboard (replaces orphaned monitoring-dashboard.html):
- New monitoring-widgets.js embeds a 5-card System Overview panel above
the filter bar: Services, Containers Up, Avg CPU, Avg Memory, Health
- Pulls /api/v1/monitoring/stats + /api/v1/health-checks/status
- Auto-refreshes on DC.POLL.STATS (5s), color-coded bars (warn >=65%, bad >=85%)
Build:
- Added monitoring-widgets.js to init.js bundle in build.js
- Rebuilt dist/ bundles (core.js, features.js, init.js)
- sw.js cache version bumped automatically
- CSP hash regenerated
- Remove legacy /api/ mount; all routes now under /api/v1/ only
- Update path matchers (CSRF excludes, public routes, audit log, rate limits)
- Move standalone routes (/api/network/ips, /api/docs, /api/docs/spec) to v1
- Update openapi.yaml (110 paths), CA pages, and 4 lingering frontend files
- Add LICENSE (proprietary EULA), CHANGELOG.md (Keep a Changelog format)
- Add .gitea/workflows/ci.yml (test+lint and security audit jobs)
- Fix 9 pre-existing no-empty lint errors so CI starts green
- Drop ad-hoc scratch reports and *.bak files from repo root
All 739 jest tests pass. Lint is clean.

build.js rewrites three things during `node build.js`:
- status/dist/*.js (bundle output)
- status/index.html (CSP hash for inline bootstrap)
- status/sw.js (cache name derived from bundle content)
release.sh was only staging status/dist/. Result: when a release didn't
touch index.html or sw.js source, the post-build modifications to those
two files were left unstaged, the commit included only dist/, and the
tarball shipped the stale sw.js. Clients then kept the previous SW
cache name -> activate handler never wiped the cache -> precached old
bundles served forever even after they were "updated" on disk.
Now stage index.html and sw.js too. They're tracked (not gitignored)
so a plain `git add` is enough; the commit is a no-op when nothing
actually changed.
