Hermes 97672f7e74 [glm-grade=A] fix(notifications): un-gate 7 dead emitters + repair legacy 4-arg send shape (DC-094)
CI / Test & Lint (push) Canceled after 0s
CI / Security audit (push) Canceled after 0s
Two silent-death defects in one class:

1. Seven emitters absent from DEFAULT events, so the send() gate
(config.events[canonical] !== true) dropped them on every install:
   ssl-cert-expiry, dns-propagation, drift-detected,
   dependency-restart-complete/-failed, recipeRemoved, workflow.
All now default ON; dependency-restart spellings fold onto one
canonical toggle; recipeRemoved aliases to recipe-removed in both
the manager and route alias maps.

2. Nine call sites used a legacy 4-arg send(event, title, message, type)
against the 3-arg signature: the message string landed in the type
slot (Discord embed color fell back to info-blue, history.type wrong)
and providers received the TITLE as the body - deploy-failure
notifications carried no error text at all. Fixed at source (9 sites)
plus a type-guarded shim in send() for external legacy callers.

Also: explicit data.title now flows to ntfy Title header, email subject,
Discord embed title, and history; settings UI gains 9 event toggles
(separate Backup Complete/Failed) with defaults-on semantics.

Tests: +24 (new DC-094 suite: defaults, gate pass-through, alias folding
send-time and load-time, stored-config inheritance, shim body/title/
color/subject/history, type-guard, 3-arg no-regression); 4 assertions in
bundled-workflows-health-check updated from the old 4-arg mock contract
to the canonical shape (same behavior asserted). Full suite 116 suites /
2706 tests green.

Judge: GLM-5.3 cold read via delegate_task (deleg_8a7cedd0), grade A,
zero blockers; 2 polish items (Backups toggle conflation, shim
type-guard) folded into this commit. Verdict URN:

Hermes 7e4ee60dcf [glm-grade=B] fix(notifications): repair UI/API contract drift — SMTP auth, event gate, test button (DC-092)
CI / Test & Lint (push) Canceled after 0s
CI / Security audit (push) Canceled after 0s
Three user-facing notification features were silently dead from contract
drift between the settings UI and the backend:

1. SMTP auth never applied: the UI sent email.user/email.pass while the
manager read username/password. Route now normalizes aliases; legacy
   config files canonicalize at load.
2. Event toggles were cosmetic: UI sent camelCase keys (containerDown),
the send() gate read kebab-case ('container-down'). EVENT_ALIASES now
   folds every known spelling (manager gate, route store, legacy files);
UI sends and reads canonical keys.
3. Deploy/auto-restart notifications always dropped: deploy-success/
deploy-failed/auto-restart were missing from DEFAULT events, and
send('test') was itself gated -> the Test button was a no-op. Defaults
   added; 'test' bypasses the gate.

Also: strict boolean contract (string 'false' for secure/enabled rejected
— previously coerced truthy, silently forcing TLS), SMTP port bounds,
non-destructive credential merge (blank password no longer clobbers the
stored one), GET /config returns port/secure/to/username + hasPassword
(password never returned), full form prefill + keep-hint placeholder.

Verified live pre-fix: send('test')/'deploymentSuccess'/'auto-restart'
all returned 'not enabled'. Post-fix: +20 tests (route + manager),
full suite 2641/2641 (112 suites).

Judge: GLM-5.3 cold read via delegate_task (deleg_ad765d63), grade B,
ship, zero blockers; judge independently ran the DC-092 suites (38/38).
Polish #1 (canonical event for provider titles) folded in. Remaining
emitters with the same gate-miss class (recipeRemoved, workflow,
ssl-cert-expiry, dns-propagation, drift-detected, dependency-restart-*)
noted for a follow-up tick.

Hermes 283121edba Merge krystie-improvements into main
Resolves 24 conflicts between Hermes (DC-008/009/010 + response-helper
envelope standardization) and Krystie (DC-005 src/ refactor path fixes,
DC-006 TOTP integration, DC-007 new test suites, cloud backup
destinations).

Conflict resolutions:
- src/utils/logging.js: took ours (consumers depend on logError/
                            safeErrorMessage/createLogger exports)
- src/config/site.js: merged (her factored validateAndLogConfig +
                            applyConfigFields helpers)
- src/context/dns.js: took hers (admin/readonly role iteration for
                            write operations)
- src/utilities/backup-
manager.js: took hers (Dropbox/WebDAV/SFTP cloud feature)
- status/dist/*, status/
sw.js: took hers (minified bundles + newer SW cache)

Additional fix (post-merge regression):
- src/monitoring/health-checker.js: fixed DC-005 path miss —
  'require(./platform-paths)' → 'require(../../platform-paths)'

Test status: 921/922 passing. One known failure in logging.test.js
(async file-handle timing) tracked as follow-up.

Hermes c509f6ff10 DC-010: convert res.json({success:true,...}) → ok() in updates/notifications/tailscale
CI / Test & Lint (push) Has been cancelled
CI / Security audit (push) Has been cancelled
Routes converted: updates.js (17), notifications.js (8), tailscale.js (12).
All 3 routes now receive ok() through the factory destructure; wired in app.js.

notifications.js: kept 2 res.json() calls for genuine partial-failure semantics
  - POST /test with ?provider=X: success reflects actual delivery
  - POST /send: success reflects per-provider results
ok() hardcodes success:true and would lose that semantic; documented why.

tailscale.js: dropped unused 'fs' and unused 'NotFoundError' top-level imports
(NotFoundError is still required() lazily inside the protect-service handler).
Net change: 12 calls cleaned up, 2 lint warnings fixed.

750/750 tests still pass.

Hermes 7bc2a207f3 DC-005: Fix all 138 broken test paths after src/ refactor
After the DC-005 module reorganization (41 files moved into src/ subdirs),
138 test suites failed because the refactor script's path-rewrite logic
missed three categories:

1. Files inside src/ doing 'require("./src/...")' — should be 'require("../...")'
2. Files in src/X/Y/ doing 'require("../../../src/...")' — should be 'require("../../...")'
3. Test files in __tests__/ with leftover 'require("../../../src/...")' paths

Root cause: the original refactor script ran before all files were moved,
so it computed relative paths against stale filesystem state.

Result:
- 30/30 test suites pass
- 879/879 tests pass (was: 18/30 suites, 614/687 tests)

Also fixed:
- routes/apps/restore.js: wrong responses import path
- routes/*/*.js: '../../src/utilities/X' → '../src/utilities/X' (depth 2 routes)

Hermes 53680c4c74 v1.13.4: Standardize all route responses to use response helpers
CI / Test & Lint (push) Has been cancelled
CI / Security audit (push) Has been cancelled
Convert ~160 raw res.json()/res.status().json() calls across 32+ files
to use centralized helpers from src/utils/responses.js (ok, errorResponse,
successMessage, notFound, validationError, forbidden, unauthorized, conflict).

No behavior changes — response shapes are identical. Future schema changes
(e.g., requestId envelope) only need to update one module.

Fix error vs errorResponse signature mismatch in routes/health.js CA cert
endpoint where error(res, message, statusCode) was being called with
errorResponse(res, statusCode, message, extras) argument order.

Files changed: middleware.js, csrf-protection.js, error-handler.js,
license-manager.js, src/app.js, and 27 route files.

Test suite: 755 pass / 4 pre-existing failures (services credential tests).

Krystie e6e788fdce refactor(routes): Phase 3.3 - standardize notifications.js (explicit deps) 2026-03-29 20:06:36 -07:00
Krystie b172a21b63 Migrate 25 route files to throw-based error handling
Converted routes:
- All auth routes (totp.js, keys.js, sso-gate.js)
- Recipe deployment routes (deploy.js, manage.js, index.js)
- App deployment routes
- Config routes (assets, backup, settings)
- ARR routes (config, credentials)
- Infrastructure routes (dns, services, sites, logs)
- Additional routes (browse, ca, health, license, notifications, tailscale, updates)

Changes:
- Replaced ctx.errorResponse() with throw statements
- Replaced errorResponse() with throw statements
- Added proper error imports to each file
- 400 errors → ValidationError
- 401 errors → AuthenticationError
- 403 errors → ForbiddenError
- 404 errors → NotFoundError
- 409 errors → ConflictError
- 500 errors → Handled by middleware

Result: 25 files migrated, ~150 error responses standardized
